Placeholder: to be replaced before launch
The text on this page is a plain-English draft, written to show the shape of the finished policy and the kind of information a small hotel usually handles. It is not legal advice and it has not been checked by a lawyer. Before the site goes live it should be replaced with a policy prepared or reviewed by BioLand’s own adviser, checked against the data protection law that applies in Kosovo and against the booking and payment systems the property actually uses.

We ask for as little as we need to answer an email, hold a table or keep a house for you, and we keep it no longer than we have to.
01Who we are
BioLand is a family-run property of eight villas and a restaurant at Bostan, Novobërdë, in Kosovo. When you write to us, ring us or make a booking, we are the ones who decide what happens to your details, and we are the ones responsible for looking after them.
02What we collect
The things you tell us: your name, your email address, a telephone number, the dates you want, how many people are coming, and anything you add about children, pets, dietary needs or access. If you book through a travel site rather than through us, that site passes some of the same details on.
The things collected on their own: which pages of this site you looked at, roughly which region you connected from, the browser and device you used, and how you arrived here. None of that is attached to your name.
03Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, hold your booking, plan the kitchen around it, and reach you if something changes.
To keep the accounts and issue invoices, which we are obliged to keep for a set number of years.
To send occasional news, but only if you have asked for it. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link at the foot of it, and it works.
04Who else sees it
Only those who need to: the booking system we use, the company that hosts this website and our email, the payment provider if you pay in advance, and our accountant. Each of them handles your details on our instructions and for no other purpose.
We do not sell your details, hand them to advertisers, or pass them to anyone else, unless we are required to by law or ordered to by a court.
05How long we keep it
Enquiries that never became a booking are cleared after two years. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as the tax and accounting rules require, and no longer. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we hold your address until you unsubscribe.
06Your rights
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop using it for a particular purpose. Write to the address at the foot of this page and we will answer within thirty days.
We may ask you to confirm who you are before we send anything, so that we are not handing your details to somebody else. If our answer does not satisfy you, you are entitled to complain to the data protection authority.
07Keeping it safe
Details sit on password-protected systems and are seen by the family and the few staff who need them to do their work. The site itself is served over an encrypted connection. No system is completely secure and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong, we will tell you and tell the authority, as we are required to.
08Changes to this page
When the way we work changes, this page changes with it, and so does the date above. Anything significant we will say plainly rather than bury in a paragraph.
Write to us
Questions about this page, a correction, or a request to see what we hold: email bioland.ks@gmail.com and mark it for the attention of the family. The address is read every morning.
