Open plan is a phrase estate agents lean on; here it simply describes the house. The sleeping and living areas share the same air and the same light, which makes the villa feel considerably bigger than its walls.
The garden has its own barbecue, the balcony its own panorama, and because there is exactly one of these on the slope, the people in it tend to feel they have found something the others missed.
